WAKEFIELD FIRST’S MAKER OF THE MONTH: ELLIOT DESIGN

Wakefield First caught up with Elliot Design’s Founder Antony about his experience of having a business in Wakefield:

“I’m a bespoke furniture designer and maker specialising in solid wood free standing furniture in a mid-century modern style.

All my products hand crafted by myself using high quality materials in my studio workshop here in the WF1 area of Wakefield.

I grew up in Wakefield, but have spent time away for university and working, but have ultimately settled and have a family here.

The transport links the city provides is fantastic, especially given that I have clients all over the country.

Lots is happenig in Wakefield and lots of local businesses are doing well, Wakefield's independant restaurant offering is fantasitc, there are lots of great places to eat in.

In recent years I have loved seeing the emergence of the creative side of the city through the sculpture park, the Hepworth, Production Park, and Tileyard North which are great assets to the district.

My plans for the business will be focused on continuing to build my business, developing my skills and creating even more furniture!”.
