04 May 2016

Wakefield based education recruitment company, m2r Education, have successfully completed a challenging project to supply a team of English Language Teachers to work at the Higher Institute of English, a brand new initiative created by the Ministry of Higher Education in the West African country of Mauritania.

This is the first education project of any kind between the United Kingdom and Mauritania.

The project was brokered by TVET UK the UK trade association for technical and professional education.

Managing Director Matthew Anderson commented

“It’s been great to deal with m2r Education for the first time on this project. We had a great choice of high quality candidates for what could have been a tricky sell. They are professional and I will certainly be working more closely with them on our upcoming work.”

m2r Education Managing Director, Munir Mamujee added,

“I am extremely proud to have been a part of this pioneering project. It is always exciting to work on new challenges and with the support of TVET UK we have managed to complete the assignment and look forward to seeing how this all develops. I am sure that this will not be the only time our two companies collaborate either”

One of the recently hired Teachers, Nichola Paige, commented

"It's a rare privilege for a teacher to be given the chance to make a meaningful contribution towards the educational development of a nation, especially when the country in question is a relatively unknown travel destination with hidden gems to discover. When I was offered the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help establish a new centre of learning in collaboration with the local Mauritanian community, I seized it with both hands."

The first cohort of teachers arrived in Mauritania on the 3rd May with the official opening set for shortly after.
