Wakefield MP celebrates Nurse Plus opening
Wed 20 Sep 2017
Wakefield MP Mary Creagh was invited to celebrate the opening of Nurse Plus’ newest branch, which will offer employment opportunities to individuals in the local area.
A ribbon cutting officially opened the Wakefield branch and Mary Creagh was able to learn more about the staffing services it will provide to healthcare organisations in and around West Yorkshire.
Staff were also pleased to show the MP around the historical building, of which Mary Creagh explained the building’s significance in the Civic Quarter.
Finally, staff provided a demonstration of the type of in-house training that will be provided on-site, used for the continual professional development of the Nurse Plus workforce.
Mary Creagh MP commented:
“Nurse Plus provides an important service, and source of employment for healthcare professionals in Wakefield, as well as the restoration of one of Wakefield’s historic buildings. It was a pleasure to meet with the staff and see first-hand their fantastic commitment to serving the local community.”
Nurse Plus area manager Ruth Bellis added: “It was really insightful to meet and speak to our local MP. We learnt so much about the area we are working in and Mary was able to offer a difference perspective.
“We now know more about our local service users and also the care industry in Wakefield, as Mary knows the area so well.”
Nurse Plus was established in 2005 by a group of experienced healthcare and recruitment experts. Since then the company has grown rapidly and provides homecare and nursing agency services, with over 55 branches across the UK.
The company’s progress has been underlined by the recent investment from Sovereign Capital and shortlisting for a number of high profile industry awards.
