A business park based just outside of Wakefield has received a series of awards and grants acknowledging its commitment to the environment.
The Nostell Estate, which is located alongside Nostell Priory, was last week commended by the Energy Efficiency Awards.
In the same week, CityConnect, part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, offered the estate a Bike Friendly Business Grant to encourage people working there to cycle to the office.
Meanwhile, the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) granted the Nostell Estate a voucher to cover costs to install charging points for electric vehicles, as part of its Workplace Charging Scheme.
Lord St Oswald, who owns The Nostell Estate, comments:
“It is extremely important to us that our development is sensitive to the local environment and offers the latest eco-friendly facilities for the businesses who work here”. He adds:
“We’re delighted to receive this recognition for the work we’re doing to ensure the Nostell Estate is an environmentally-friendly location to run a business, and for the support to continue our efforts”.
The Nostell Estate is home to a growing number of successful local enterprises, including Open Communications, Oddie Holdings Wakefield social enterprise Engaging Education.
