Innovation Hub the Result of Exciting New Partnership
Thu 04 Dec 2014
A new and exciting partnership between Wakefield Council and Leeds Beckett University has created the new Enterprise and Innovation Hub, the first of its kind in the city, and with the aim to widen and create opportunities for businesses in the city.
The hub currently offers;
•Access to attractive business lounges in Leeds and Wakefield
•Business skills analysis
•Funding for growth
•Online enterprise and innovation workshops
•A platform for open innovation including support for collaboration and sharing expertise.
Councillor Denise Jeffrey, Cabinet member for Regeneration and Markets, speaking to Yorkshire Vision about the creation of the hub said;
‘We’re confident that having a visible university presence will raise aspirations of young people and create a learning culture for all.’
Whilst Wakefield remains without a dedicated University presence the creation of the hub will help to boost skills in the district and will support the continued push for a University.
Leeds Beckett also brings a wealth of experience in the field and will help to tailor their specialisms to the needs of both the smallest micro business through to large corporates;
•Management and Coaching
•Health, Wellbeing and Sport,
•Retail, Food and Drink
•Digital & Creative and Built Environment
The Enterprise and Innovation Academy works in partnership with the Institute of Directors, West Yorkshire Chambers, The Yorkshire Post, WGN, DWF, University of Birmingham, Medici and ERRIN.
