CELEBRATE THE BRAVERY AND TALENTS OF YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS THE WAKEFIELD DISTRICT
Tue 08 May 2018
Nominations open for the Yorkshire Children of Achievement Awards at the Cedar Court Hotel Wakefield
As the only event that exclusively celebrates the bravery and talents of young people from across the Wakefield District, nominations have officially opened for the Cedar Court Hotels Yorkshire Children of Achievement Awards.
Building on the success of the inaugural event last year, the awards are back for 2018 and will see seven worthy winners receive the recognition that they deserve when they are chosen from the following categories; Inspiring Individual – Judges Choice, Bravery, Courage in Battling Illness, Young Achiever in Academia, Enterprise, Young Achiever in the Arts and Sports Achievement.
As well as a champagne reception and three course meal, guests will also have the chance to dance the night away with an extra special appearance from Skinny Living, the four-piece band from Wakefield that are signed to RCA/Sony
Playing songs from sell out shows that they perform up and down the country, the band will be on hand to meet with the winners and have ‘selfies’ taken with each family.
Chairman of WACCL (the organisation responsible for the Children of Achievement Awards), Ian Taylor, comments: “Already this event is gearing up to be bigger and better than any of us could ever have expected. Not only have Cedar Court Hotels shown their support through their headline sponsorship but Skinny Living are also coming along to share some songs from their sell out shows.
“We have the glitz and the glamour but without nominations we won’t have anything to celebrate! That’s why we are urging anyone that feels their child, student, friend or family member is deserving of an award to put them forward. The nomination process is really simple, and you could give a young person a night to remember!”
