A Fresh New Look For The Hop to Ignite The Wakefield Bar Scene
Fri 14 Oct 2016
Having closed its doors on 25th September and set to reopen to the public from 4pm on Friday 28th October 2016, The Hop promises to bring an exciting new development to Bank Street by investing £250,000 on a full refurbishment throughout the Hop.
All customers old and new will be invited to experience the new Hop with a new weekend bar, cosy real fire snug and even an in house kebab shop to fill those hungry stomachs at the end of a beer infused night.
The venue will keep its traditional real ale house feel and continue to provide an intimate atmosphere for live music with a fresh face lift, showcasing new contemporary décor throughout. The venue will have plenty of drink options to quench the thirst for a range of customers, from cocktails to craft beer to real ale and prosecco. Customers will be able to hang out and relax with friends, colleagues and loved ones for drinks with live music throughout the week. Come Friday and Saturday night, the weekend bar will open and the dance floor will be ready for everyone to get their groove on to a range of 80s and 90s classic disco tunes from 9pm.
Jamie Lawson, Owner of The Hop Said:
“Wakefield used to have a reputation as one of the best nights out in the North of England, unfortunately of late, Wakefield fell behind big rivals such as Leeds, we are about to change this. Investing over £250,000 into the Hop Wakefield aims to bring Wakefield night life back on the map. With the exciting new refurbishment including a new purposely built extension for the front bar, an enlarged courtyard, new weekend bar and kebab shop, along with our Friday and Saturday night favourite cover bands. So come along and sample our usual high quality real ales as well as a new range of craft beer prosecco and cocktails.”
The Hop Wakefield originally opened back in 2008. The unique concept of the venue was as an amalgamation between Jamie Lawson director of Ossett Brewery, Mike Heaton drummer from Yorkshire Indie band Embrace and ex-Virgin Japan MD Mike Inman. With over 15 years brewing experience and over 35 years knowledge of the music industry The Hop concept was born. After the huge success of the first Hop, 4 more were born spilling across Yorkshire, The Hop Leeds in 2010, The Hop Sheffield in 2011, The Hop York in 2013 and The Hop Saltaire in 2014.
We look forward to seeing everyone from 4pm on Friday 28th October.
