Wakefield restaurant crowned Restaurant of the Year at prestigious British Curry & Catering Awards 2026
A Wakefield restaurant is celebrating after taking home one of the biggest prizes at the British Curry & Catering Awards 2026.
Syhiba Restaurant has been crowned Restaurant of the Year 2026, beating competition from restaurants and hospitality businesses from across the UK.
The prestigious accolade was presented at Cedar Court Bradford on September 17, where leading names from the British curry and catering industry gathered for an evening celebrating excellence, creativity and achievement.
The awards recognised businesses and individuals across a wide range of categories, including Pakistani and Indian restaurants, fine dining, vegetarian restaurants, curry houses, takeaways, wedding venues and hospitality teams.
For Syhiba Restaurant, the Restaurant of the Year title marks a major achievement for the Wakefield venue and places it among the standout names recognised at this year’s ceremony.
The glittering event also featured Cobra Beer, while acclaimed singer and entertainer Aidan M hosted the evening and provided live entertainment.
Adding an international touch to proceedings was the Luxe Global Beauty Contest, directed by Tushita Roy, which welcomed contestants travelling from countries including Sweden and the USA.
