Wakefield mum of three turns struggles Into a national brand

29 Sep 2025

When Wakefield mum of three Rose Gibson found herself torn between the relentless pressures of childcare, the guilt of leaving her children and the desire to maintain her career, she felt trapped. “I was exhausted and frustrated,” Rose admits. “Every choice felt wrong, if I stayed at work, I felt guilty. If I stayed home, I worried about money and the career I’d built.”

What began as a small idea quickly grew into a national brand. Today, BabyBeats has franchisees across the UK, empowering women to step into business ownership on their own terms.

And now, Rose is taking her mission one step further with the launch of her debut book, I’m Fine, arriving this October. The interactive guide for new mums explores the realities of early motherhood the parts no one warns you about while offering practical exercises, emotional support and a reminder that no mum has to go through it alone.

“I wanted to write the book I needed back then,” Rose explains. “Something that told mums the truth, reassured them that they’re not failing, and gave them real tools to feel better.”

Behind the book is also a story of women supporting women. From her independent female led publisher to Wakefield illustrator, Liz Kay, who illustrated the book, every part of the project has been powered by women.

Rose’s story is one of resilience, reinvention and a refusal to accept limits. She has not only built a business around her children but created opportunities for other women to do the same, a ripple effect of empowerment spreading far beyond Wakefield.

“I want mums to know they don’t have to choose between being present for their children and having a career they love,” Rose says. “You can have both and you can do it your way.”
