Wakefield Hospice announces the grand opening of new retail space 'Unit G'
Wakefield Hospice has announced the official opening of its brand-new retail store, Unit G, this Saturday (December 6).
Situated next door to the Wakefield Hospice Donation Centre, Unit G, on Tadman Street, is a large, vibrant and industrial-inspired space designed to celebrate creativity, sustainability, and the charity’s ongoing commitment to the local community.
The store will offer a mix of preloved fashion, homewares, furniture, books, toys, and more – all with an emphasis on reuse, upcycling, and environmentally conscious shopping.
The grand opening celebrations will beginfrom 10.30am, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony led by store manager Evie Brooke and Wakefield Hospice staff nurse Cathryn Hartley.
Visitors will be welcomed with a live DJ, the Munchkin Catering trailer, free goodie bags and teddies for the first 100 customers, and a range of family-friendly activities throughout the day.
Matt Berry, Wakefield Hospice Head of Retail, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to finally open the doors to Unit G.
"The team has poured so much passion and hard work into transforming this space, and we can’t wait for the community to see it.

Store manager Evie Brook added: “Whether searching for a unique upcycling project, hoping to do some ethical Christmas shopping, looking for a new volunteer opportunity or simply curious to explore the hospice’s newest retail venture, everyone is welcome to come down and experience our brand new retail offering here at Unit G.”
