Wakefield Council licensing: Plans for Silly Goose ‘axe throwing’ pub in The Ridings Centre
A new pub offering “axe throwing, interactive darts and live music” looks set to open in The Ridings Shopping Centre.
A licensing application for a venue called Silly Goose, to be located in The Ridings, has been submitted to Wakefield Council.
Applicants Thomas Hodgson and Lee Stakes have sought permission to sell alcohol at the city centre premises daily from noon to 10pm.
According to The Ridings website, the new business is set to open later this year.
An advert promoting the venue said: “You wanna play some wicked games, watch some awesome live events, or just hangout with friends?
“Wakefield, get ready to let your feathers down!
“Once upon a time, two Wakefield lads ditched the 9-to-5 grind of the leisure biz and decided to do something a little… sillier.
“Now, they’re hatching something brand new right in the heart of Wakefield — The Silly Goose!
“It’s your new go-to nest for fun — think axe throwing, interactive darts, live music and shows, shuffleboard, pool, a buzzing bar, and legendary quiz nights.
“Whether you’re flocking in with friends, family, or workmates, we’ve built the perfect spot to laugh, play, and maybe throw a few axes (safely, of course).
“So spread the word — The Silly Goose is landing soon… and it’s going to be a proper honk!”
