Founded by Dalia, the brand was born out of a genuine love for nature and a relatable problem. After spending hours outdoors, Dalia noticed the elements were leaving her skin dry and sun-damaged. Instead of looking for a quick fix, she hit the books and discovered a direct link between the wildflowers, fruits, and vegetables she was growing in her garden and the powerful botanical ingredients that can heal the skin.
Today, her line features everything from nourishing cleansers to targeted hand and body treatments, all championing UK-grown ingredients like Yorkshire rhubarb, pea peptides, and strawberry extract.
The brand is deeply rooted in Wakefield. Dalia found her inspiration during lockdown walks through Newmillerdam, Seckar Woods, and Woolley. Beyond creating great products, she has built a thriving community of skincare lovers, growers, and even fellow chicken keepers.
“My dream was to create an honest, myth-busting skincare range using ingredients produced right here in Yorkshire,” Dalia shares. “When we launched our first cottage garden-inspired workshop earlier this year, it completely sold out. Teaching people how to care for their skin as it ages—without the usual industry nonsense—has been incredibly fulfilling.”
She’s also a massive champion of our local business scene: “People often think of Leeds when it comes to startups, but Wakefield has an incredibly strong, growing network of talented creators. I want to keep highlighting the beautiful green spaces and the collaborative community we have right on our doorstep.”
Looking ahead, Dalia Botanique is getting ready to develop new products using locally sourced ingredients and is partnering with other independent businesses to expand her interactive workshops.
