Tattoo journey is owned by tattoo artist Danny Tymon, who has worked in Wakefield for 15 years and previously ran studios on King Street and in The Ridings.

Danny co-owns Journey Lounge with childhood friend Simon Tomlinson.

Danny said: "You can't ever drink before having a tattoo. The whole theme to this is you have a tattoo and after you have got your tattoo you can relax and have a drink and like-minded people can appreciate the tattoo."

Danny added: "You don't need to want a tattoo, just come here and enjoy it."

Danny and Simon are childhood friends who first discussed opening a bar together around ten years ago.

Simon said: "We used to live across the road from each other from the age of six or seven

"We used to play football and became lifelong friend from there.

Simon, who has spent the majority of his working life in the packaging industry, said the two went to different high schools but always kept in touch.

He said: "Whenever we met up we would talk about doing it and years down the line we got to the stage where we can do it."

Danny said: "Journey Lounge has been in my head since I started tattooing. Tattoo Journey was something I started first in the hope I could create a place that would be different but welcoming to everyone."

Danny and Simon hope to host art gallery nights on the first floor at the bar giving local artists the chance to showcase their work.

Danny said: "Bringing art and a casual relaxed environment and bring people together would be amazing."
