The hot-potato company, which first began in Preston in 1995, has become one of Britain’s fastest-growing food sensations thanks to owners Jacob and Harley Nelson, with the business gaining millions of likes on social media.

Now, following the successful SpudBros Express openings in London, Liverpool and Sheffield, the new EG On The Move trial stores in Wakefield, and also Blackburn, are a first for roadside customers to access the viral spuds.

Jacob Nelson, co-founder of SpudBros, added: “Partnering with EG On The Move is a huge moment for us.

"At SpudBros our goal has always been to take make our menu offer beyond the queues around the block and into people’s everyday lives.

"By working with brilliant retail operators and passionate franchise owners, we are proving that a humble jacket potato can become a nationally loved brand.

"I am confident Blackburn and Wakefield are just the beginning of a much bigger journey with EG On The Move.”

The new Wakefield store will serve the brand’s cult favourites from the SpudBros Classic with garlic butter, their signature three-cheese mix, beans, crispy onions and ‘famous’ tram sauce, to the Spudfather topped with chilli con carne, as well as tuna coleslaw, bolognese, and the option to create your own.

Following the openings, SpudBros Express will be open seven days a week between 11am to 8pm.
