Employees from Sigma Group have raised more than £10,000 for The Prince of Wales Hospice after taking on the demanding Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

The team of 16 braved challenging weather conditions, including wind and rain, as they tackled steep climbs across one of Yorkshire’s most demanding walking routes, pushing themselves to complete as much of the challenge as possible, with some reaching one peak, others two and several completing all three.

The fundraising effort received generous support from colleagues, customers, suppliers and business partners, helping the team raise an impressive £10,000 to support the hospice’s vital work caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses.

Sarah Hunter, from Sigma Group, said: “It was fantastic to see so many colleagues come together and take on this challenge.

"It gave people from across the business the chance to support one another, build new relationships and achieve something together outside of work. We’d also like to thank everyone who donated and supported the team along the way.”

Emma Thwaite, Community & Partnerships Fundraiser at The Prince of Wales Hospice, welcomed the fundraising achievement and highlighted the difference the donation could make to patients and their families.

She said: “Raising more than £10,000 is an incredible achievement.

"This amount could fund more than two weeks of care for a hospice patient, covering everything from specialist healthcare to catering and housekeeping.

"We’re so grateful to everyone at Sigma whose support will help us continue caring for local patients and supporting their families when they need us most.”
