Revenues surpass £220m at vehicle retailer despite cost pressures
Wakefield-headquartered motor vehicle seller, Cars 2 Ltd, has hailed strong revenues in the face of inflation and uncertainty, as it releases its results for the year ended 31 December 2025.
It achieved revenues of £220.2m (2024: £207.6m) and pre-tax profits of £3.8m (2024: £4m), with an average staff headcount in 2025 of 280 (2024: 266).
During 2025 the firm said it developed its Huddersfield facility to accommodate a new Renault-Dacia sales and aftersales operation and opened a second OMODA-Jaccoo full facility in Barnsley, to replace the relinquished SEAT franchise.
Cars 2 Ltd said government policies outlined in the 2025 Budget means there is continued uncertainty in the electric vehicle marketplace. The business added that inflationary personnel costs coupled with higher utility bills remain a challenge.
However, in its strategic report the business noted: “Investment in IT/AI systems to minimise duplication where possible, enabled the company to maintain strong operational efficiency.
“The business is well placed to embrace any opportunities that present for further strategic expansion with new or existing brands.
“During 2023 the company secured the OMODA-Taecoo and CHERY representation for the Bradford marketplace and this facility started trading in the first quarter of 2026.
“Also opened in 2025 was the new GEELY facility in Wakefield and the Bradford territory has also been secured for this brand and is due to begin trading in quarter three of 2026.”
The company, which transitioned into employee ownership in early 2025, said 2026 had started well with its profitability tracking ahead of 2025 for quarter one.
