“We're looking forward to showing Castleford our world famous Louisiana hospitality and that unmistakable Popeyes crunch.”

Popeyes was founded in New Orleans in 1972 and opened its first UK restaurant in 2021.

Opening day will see a series of giveaways. The first 100 customers in the queue will receive a free Chicken Sandwich, while the first 50 will also receive Popeyes merchandise.

Four customers arriving on foot and the first four cars using the restaurant's Park & Serve bays will win free Chicken Sandwiches for a year.

The offer gives each winner three free Chicken Sandwiches a week for 52 weeks, subject to the company's terms and conditions.

Customers are advised to arrive early, with the queue opening at 9am.

The restaurant will offer dine-in and takeaway options, alongside self-service kiosks, collection points and Park & Serve bays for online orders.

Menu favourites will include the Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings, Tenders and Signature Chicken Wraps.

Customers will also be among the first to try Popeyes UK's new Cajun Crunch menu, featuring a Cajun Crunch Sandwich, Wrap and Superstack, alongside Cajun Citrus Wings, Boneless pieces, fresh lemonades and Mud Pie Whipz.
