Plans submitted for warehouse bigger than a football pitch in Castleford
A planning application has been submitted for a large distribution and storage warehouse in Castleford.
The plans for the warehouse – alongside an office, service yard and car parking – relate to land off Whistler Drive and Steamboat Way.
The total area of the site is 8,985m2
.A design and access statement provided on behalf of the developer said: “The building is of a size and scale that is in keeping with that of the surrounding buildings.
"The building is designed to provide a 10m clearance to the underside of the portal frame haunch.
"A shallow, double-pitched roof minimises overall height, while a combination of colours, profiles, and cladding orientations is used to break up the building mass and add visual interest.”
The statement noted the development would be near to other large-scale industrial occupiers include Really Useful Products, Puma,Teva UK and IFCO Systems, as well as Junction 32.
