HJ Consulting Engineers appoint strategic business adviser
Civil and structural engineering firm, HJ Consulting Engineers (HJCE), has appointed a strategic business adviser as it aims to expand operations and double current revenues within the next three to five years.
Chris Paddey joins the Wakefield-based firm on a part-time basis.
Working with the team of directors and bringing extensive expertise in building teams for large engineering companies across the UK, Paddey will help to shape the focus of HJCE’s path to growth, covering new business development, asset management and recruitment, succession planning, and company branding among other strategic operations.
Employing 30 people and with a current turnover of approx. £2.75M, HJCE is developing its presence in the commercial, telecoms, transportation and geoenvironmental sectors while recruiting for a variety of technical and support roles as it invests in frontline operations and support services.
Bringing more than 35-years of experience to the role, Paddey previously established and built-up energy engineering consultancy PADD Energy before selling it in a multi-million pound deal in 2025.
He said: “HJCE is a great business with a strong client base and ambitions to secure sustainable growth.
