Former fashion designer opens modern bridal boutique in Pontefract
A former fashion designer for Ellesse and River Island is bringing a fresh approach to bridal shopping to Pontefract with the launch of Belle Vie Bridal, a modern bridal boutique inspired by her own bridal journey.
Founded by Pontefract-based designer Katie Mitchell, Belle Vie Bridal at The Old Courthouse, combines Katie's professional fashion industry experience with her passion for creating a relaxed, personal and memorable experience for modern brides.
After spending seven years working within the fashion industry, designing across womenswear, swimwear, childrenswear and accessories for well-known brands including Ellesse and River Island, Katie says she developed a strong understanding of design, trends and customer needs.
However, it was while planning her own wedding that she discovered a passion for the bridal industry and recognised an opportunity to bring something different to local brides.
"I wanted to create the kind of experience I would have loved as a bride myself," she said.
"Wedding dress shopping should feel exciting, personal and enjoyable. I felt there was an opportunity to bring something modern, stylish and welcoming to Pontefract, offering brides a beautiful space where they can enjoy exclusive private appointments and feel completely supported throughout their journey."
Belle Vie Bridal offers a carefully curated collection of wedding gowns from renowned Barcelona designers including Adriana Alier, Aire Barcelona, Luna Novias and Alma Novia.
The boutique has been designed to provide a private and relaxed experience, with brides enjoying exclusive use of the showroom during their appointment.
Alongside wedding gowns, Belle Vie Bridal also oJers bridal accessories and bridal loungewear, helping brides celebrate every stage of their wedding journey.
To celebrate the launch, Belle Vie Bridal will host an open showroom weekend on July 3 and 4, welcoming local brides-to-be, their families and friends to explore the boutique, discover the collections and experience the space before appointments officially begin on July 6.
"Opening Belle Vie Bridal is a dream come true,” Katie said.
"I'm incredibly proud to be opening an independent business in Pontefract and bringing something new to the local bridal scene.
"My aim is to create a boutique where every bride feels comfortable, confident and excited to find the dress that's perfect for her."
