Castleford firm chooses The Prince of Wales Hospice as its 2026 Charity of the Year

24 Mar 2026

Castleford firm, Target Components, has announced that The Prince of Wales Hospice will be its chosen Charity of the Year for 2026.

Throughout the year, the team will be fundraising, taking part in events and helping to shine a spotlight on the hospice’s vital work across the Five Towns.

The Castleford based IT distributor, which has proudly served the region for almost 30 years, made the decision after meeting with the Hospice team and learning more about the pressures of providing specialist hospice care.

As an employee owned business with many staff, customers and suppliers living locally, the choice felt like a meaningful way to support a charity that is close to the hearts of so many.

Over the year, the Target team will be getting involved in several Hospice events, including the Yorkshire 3 Peaks at Night, Ackworth Pram Fest and the Pontefract 10K.

They’ll also be running their own fundraising activities, and Target’s exclusive brand, piXL monitors, will be donating a percentage of all sales to the hospice.

In July, Target will also be the headline exhibitor at a major technology event at Magna in Rotherham, welcoming around 800 attendees.

The Prince of Wales Hospice has been chosen as the event’s official charity partner and will be there on the day to raise awareness and funds.

Emma Thwaite, Community and Partnerships Fundraiser at The Prince of Wales Hospice, said: “Target Components’ support throughout 2026 will make a real difference to the patients and families who rely on our care every single day.

"We’re especially grateful for how they’re involving their staff, suppliers and customers. It shows a shared belief in compassionate, community focused care.

"We’re excited to work closely with them across the year and are truly thankful for their kindness and generosity.”

Martin Thompson at Target Components said: “When the Hospice team visited us earlier this year, every one of us felt the impact of what they shared.

"Many of us have been touched by the hospice’s care.

"Choosing to support them this year felt like the natural thing to do. We’re committed to raising awareness and funds through key events, our own activities and product sales.

"We hope to help the Hospice continue delivering the vital care our community depends on.”
