'Caffe Nero is coming home': Caffe Nero to reopen in Trinity Walk later this month

15 Dec 2025

Caffe Nero will reopen in Wakefield’s Trinity Walk this December, four years after it closed its doors.

The Wakefield branch, in Trinity Walk, closed in 2021 and was replaced by independent coffee shop, Caffe Noor.

Now, Caffe Nero is back at the Wakefield shopping centre – with doors reopening later this month.

Alan Reeve, new store openings manager for Caffe Nero, said: “It’s brilliant to be back in Wakefield city centre and at Trinity Walk."

"It very much feels like Caffe Nero is coming home. Work is well under way in the unit and we hope to open our doors sometime in mid-December.”

“We’ve been delighted and humbled by the hugely positive reaction to this news that we’re opening and can’t wait.”

James White, centre manager for Trinity Walk, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Caffe Nero back here and the reaction to the announcement has already been brilliant.

“Work is progressing quickly and they should be crafting coffees very soon.

"It’s yet another unit that has been snapped up quickly, and Caffe Nero will be one of many new brands we’ve seen open here in the last three years.”

The return of the coffee shop is one of many new additions to the centre.

It follows an impressive 2025 for Trinity Walk, who announced earlier this year that Tenpin would be joining the centre in spring 2026.

The new entertainment complex will take the entire top floor of the former Debenhams unit.

Other new shops include Footasylum, Panda Mami and a larger shop for Trinity Walk staple, Trespass.
