An unmissable day of creative opportunity for 13-17 year olds! Take part in hands-on workshops delivered by extraordinary Creative Coaches. Participants will experience all three workshops and gain an awareness of career pathways in Creative Industries.
I Can Be… A Screenwriter !
Rob Young is an award-winning writer and artist. He trained in Design, spent 13 years in photography and 20 more writing for the UK’s biggest film, TV and theatre companies, including the BBC, Channel 4, Sony, Aardman, Working Title Films, and The National Theatre. Rob is a former BAFTA Screenplay Judge and has written everything from a Christina Ricci movie to the first online play for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
I Can Be… A Production Designer!
Join Policelot for a hands-on session. This specialist company support Film and TV productions by supply authentic police props, uniforms and trained supporting artists. They also run a studio with set-spaces like a custody suite and interview room. Based in Wakefield, Policelot is know for blending realism, craftsmanship and sustainability in their work. They have contributed to high-profile productions such as Happy Valley, The Responder, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and award-winning Adolescence.
I Can Be… A Cinematographer!
John Slemensek-Thorne is a filmmaker who tells powerful stories through his studio, Studio Bokehgo. He is entirely self taught and now runs Studio Bokehgo where he’s made thousands of films and helps other creatives find work. John believes that being yourself and sharing honest stories is what makes great films.
