PHD Marketing & Strategy, based in the iconic Pontefract Barracks building, has announced significant expansion in due to increased demand for marketing services in the print, packaging and plastics sectors.

Joanna Stephenson, Managing Director of the company said: “It will come as no surprise that due to the large amount of attention being placed on the plastics industry that there has been a huge upswing for marketing services for our print, packaging and plastics clients.”

Stephenson, former vice president of marketing and innovation at local company, LINPAC Group, established PHD in 2014. LINPAC, now acquired by Klöckner Pentaplast, is a key client for the agency but the company has grown significantly in its short history and numbers 22 UK and international-based clients.

Stephenson commented: “We now have 11 staff, appointing five new employees, including two apprentices, in the last six months. We were delighted to recruit Rachael Ryder and Rosie O’Brien as full time copywriters and and Cath Mace as business support co-ordinator and PA. We’re also investing in the future of the business with two new apprentices, Millie Kilburn and Ben Storey.”

PHD is a business-to-business marketing agency with core insight to the needs of the dynamic print, packaging and plastics sectors which clients appreciate.

“Marketing agencies have a habit of working for a broad range of clients without being able to offer core strategic insight to the specific industries they are trying to communicate with,” added Stephenson.

“We pride ourselves in truly understanding the sectors we focus on; we know the language, technology, competitive environment and key industry issues, and clients report that makes the difference to our offer and their business. We hope by continuing to follow this philosophy, we will continue to see growth and success into the future.”
