Acxiom Put Spotlight on Digital Community

Acxiom IT, the Normanton based IT Services & data analytics firm recognised for supporting some of the world’s best known brands, is inviting local business leaders to take a tour of their state-of-the-art data centre as part of a campaign to put the spotlight on the districts creative, digital and IT sector.

On Thursday 6th November from 5:00pm, Acxiom play host to Cognitiv associates and members and will showcase their world class facilities. They will offer an insight into how their global scale can deliver value to the local business community whilst detailing why they strategically chose Normanton to house their main UK data centre facility.

The tour forms part of Cognitiv’s monthly business event, the not-for-profit industry group established earlier in 2014 to support Wakefield’s creative, digital and IT communities and is building momentum and significant interest within this region.

As part of the event Sarah Pearson, Service Director for Economic Growth & Housing at Wakefield Council, will share the district’s vision for creative, digital and IT growth. She will be joined by Ian Wainwright, the Assistant Principal from Wakefield College who will provide greater insight into the college’s plans within this sector.

Ian will share how collaboration with key businesses will improve the educational options for individuals entering higher and further education and how fresh thinking will help to nurture and retain within the immediate community, those highly skilled individuals.
