Central Alliance invests in new division

01 June 2017

Central Alliance, one of the fastest growing pre-construction service companies in the UK, since forming just three years ago, has strengthened its geotechnical capabilities with the creation of a new Geo Construction division.

Investment in the new division includes the acquisition of specialist drilling contractor Electro Install Ltd. The purchase forms part of Central Alliance’s strategic medium term growth plan to expand the company’s geo-construction offering to customers.

To support the new division, Central Alliance is working in partnership with Electrokinetic to install the company’s EKG slope stabilisation system and will assist Electrokinetic on future R&D projects.

Electro Install Ltd’s specialist slope climbing rigs will be utilised to expand the group’s Geo Construction division, which will provide specialist support to clients with more technically challenging projects that require specialist geotechnical construction.

Services offered by the new division will be used across the construction industry from infrastructure, civil engineering projects, energy and power sector schemes to residential developments

Central Alliance is already working on projects using the specialist slope climbing rigs and has just completed bespoke ground investigation work on the £1.5 billion A14 improvement scheme at Brampton Hut for Amey/Highways England.

Richard Pidcock, group technical director of Central Alliance, who will lead the new division, said:

We are delighted to welcome Electro Install Ltd to the Central Alliance Group. The acquisition will enhance the scope of Central Alliance’s combined ground investigation and specialist geotechnical construction capabilities and lead to the creation of new jobs across the Geo Construction Division.”

Dr John Lamont-Black of Electrokinetic Limited, added: “The combination of the Electro Install specialist rigs and Central Alliance’s breadth and depth of capability and experience creates an exciting combination that will deliver increasing value to customers”.

"Central Alliance has grown and evolved with the geotechnical industry, giving us unique insight into the pain points faced by our clients," added Pete Bevils, CEO of Central Alliance.

"We know that the convergence of technology and specialist geotechnical construction is the answer for many of our clients and we've invested heavily in the expertise and experience to make it happen. This is just the start. Clients are already taking full advantage of this expertise."
