HELP TO GROW

Leeds Business School at Leeds Beckett is leading on the government funded Help to Grow: Management programme, intended for senior leaders in small and medium-sized regional businesses. The scheme aims to support entrepreneurs in enhancing their business’ resilience and recovery from the impact of COVID-19.  It aims to support the business leaders in developing their potential for future growth, by embracing principles of sustainability, productivity and social inclusion.

Help to Grow: Management is a 14-week programme, delivered by a consortium of business schools across the UK. The course has been accredited by the Small Business Charter (SBC), and is financed by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). With 90% of the programme costs funded, businesses pay a symbolic fee of £750 to secure a place on this sought-after three month course. The ambitious targets set by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) and BEIS seek to support 300,000 SMEs nationally over the programme’s lifespan.  

The programme has seen over 100 businesses from our region embark on this learning journey with Leeds Business School.  Although the course is run by university business schools, it is highly practical and seeks to further enhance leadership skills within small businesses across a range of critical business topics - such as productivity, marketing, leadership, sustainability, and finance.
