Employers: Wakefield Works Needs YOU!

Wakefield Works, the campaign to boost the employability and skills of local people is back for its sixth year, with a four-day tour of the district which kickstarts on Tuesday 20th June. Last year’s campaign saw employers engage with over 1,200 people – the most successful year so far. This year we’re looking to build on this by engaging with even more employers from a wider range of sectors.
Working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, Wakefield Works will help to connect unemployed people with local businesses and is appealing to district wide organisations to get involved in the events that will be held in Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract and Hemsworth Jobcentres.
Businesses need to register their interest in advance at www.wakefieldworks.co.uk and can support the programme by attending events to speak with local unemployed people; offering career advice, an insight into their sector or to detail specific job opportunities. Interested organisations can join the events for a few hours, at a specific event location or for the full four-day event.
