DEAL AGREED FOR NEW UNIT AT WEST YORKSHIRE DEVELOPMENT

A deal has been agreed for a new 260,000 sq ft warehouse unit at a development in West Yorkshire.

An unnamed German pharmaceutical company is set to occupy a unit at Wakefield Hub, which is being brought forward by Newmarket Lane Ltd, a joint venture between property developers HBD and Yorkcourt.

The former mining site is located close to Junction 30 of the M62. Planning applications have been submitted for a further 2.2 million sq ft., and work has begun on a 65,000 sq ft unit for Kitwave Wholesale Group.

A planning application for the latest unit is set to be submitted in the coming months, with Newmarket Lane Ltd aiming to start on site later this year subject to planning permission being granted.

Scott Mackie, director of Newmarket Lane Ltd, said: "We're very pleased to be able to announce this latest deal at Wakefield Hub and we look forward to bringing the new unit forward. We've seen a lot of interest in the scheme already from potential occupiers, which is very positive - conversations are underway with a number of businesses, and we look forward to announcing further deals in the near future."
