Academy Group Invests In Multi-Site Comms Solution

An academy group is investing in telephony and internet solutions to deliver improved communications across its eight schools in Leeds.

The GORSE Academies Trust (TGAT) is implementing a phased programme of IT improvements which will deliver faster and more secure connections between its sites.

The work is being delivered by Wakefield-based business communications specialist NGC Networks which has a growing number of education clients.

The Ruth Gorse Academy – a secondary Free School within TGAT – has recently relocated to state of the art facilities in the centre of Leeds. The relocation involved NGC Networks installing a new Avaya telephony solution, and an MPLS broadband connection which connects to all the Trust’s other academies.

In addition, NGC Networks is implementing a phased rollout of an internet solution which will provide all academies within TGAT with with fast, secure and reliable connectivity between its sites for internal IT communications.

James Ramsden, director of IT at The GORSE Academies Trust, said: “The improvements being delivered by NGC Networks fit with the Trust’s IT strategy which is about streamlining our communications and ensuring that all of our sites link internally. NGC has engaged and worked with us to deliver the right solutions while at the same time providing excellent service and ongoing support.”

In a separate project, NGC Networks has audited the Trust’s lines and calls and provided a contract which will deliver cost savings of £20,000 over three years.
