Small Business Saturday is fast approaching!
01 December 2016
Well it’s that time of year again… Small business Saturday is back, Saturday 3rd December. What are you are doing to support your local businesses?
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
So if you’re in the Five Towns area, Wakefield Central or the South East of the district it doesn’t matter, it’s all about shopping local and supporting YOUR local Businesses.
Small Biz Sat UK is important to support the growth and development of the local economy and it highlights how important it is as not only as a customer but as a business to get involved in local initiatives and business groups that are around.
How often to do you shop local?
A great example of businesses getting involved and encouraging visitors to shop local is the work the Wakefield City Centre Partnership (WCCP) are doing this December in the spirit of Christmas and supporting local business.
The WCCP is a joint private and public group committed to working together for the Wakefield community. This December WCCP has launched for the second year running a Christmas booklet full of discounts and vouchers that not only to encourage you to come shopping in Wakefield, but to highlight the independent shops that our city has to offer and its given them a platform to market themselves which is brilliant for those independent businesses.
You can pick up a WOW booklet at the ridings shopping centre, Trinity walk, Wakefield library’s and various shops around the City Centre to see for yourself!
So our challenge for you! ….
We want to see you getting social with #SmallBizSatUK , Shop local and tell us what your doing – the more posts the better.
