Harvard Engineering, world leader in the design, development and manufacture of energy saving lighting solutions, was yesterday (Thursday 18th September 2014) presented with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, within the International Trade category, by His Royal Highness Prince Richard, The Duke of Gloucester.

The company received the Queen’s Award following a period of significant worldwide growth. The company now has sales representation in place in the Americas, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Benelux, and the Nordics. Harvard also has established distribution partnerships in Australia, the Middle East, and the Czech Republic.

The Duke of Gloucester visited Harvard’s premises in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, receiving a tour of the company’s state of the art factory before presenting Harvard with the award in front of members of the Harvard team.

John McDonnell, managing director at Harvard Engineering, commented:

“It was great to welcome The Duke of Gloucester to Wakefield and to have him present us with our Queen’s Award. We work extremely hard to stay at the forefront of the lighting market, and it is great to receive recognition through awards like this.”

The International Trade award is Harvard’s second Queen’s Award in the last three years. The company was awarded with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise within the Innovation category in 2011.
