Wakefield Works Returns with Call for Employers to Get Involved

Following the huge success of our Wakefield Works Employer Event of 2015, Wakefield Works is back to help candidates understand local businesses recruitment experience. Hosted once again by Jobcentreplus the events will happen across the district from 28thJune to 1st July.
The aim of the event is to help candidates better their chances in securing employment through the sharing of your recruitment experience. We are now looking for local employers who want to participate in this year’s events.
Feedback from last year’s events was incredibly positive with over 1200 people being seen throughout the week.
Andy Turner, of Wakefield Works, commented:
“Over the last three years we’ve had a great deal of success through Wakefield Works, but our tour of the district smashed all previous campaigns. I am sure that those four days positively changed the lives of many, many people and we will be aiming to see even more people this year!”
Business can attend for the full day at any of the four events 9am – 4pm or for a half day 9am – 12:30pm or 12:30pm – 4pm. For everyone attending refreshments will be provided and for those who stay for the full day a complimentary lunch will be available. We will be asking employers to arrive between 8.30am and 9.15am to set up their stands/desks etc prior to a briefing at 9.15am.
With the huge amount of people through the doors at last year’s events we expect significant interest and plenty of press coverage for you and your business.
The events will take place in Jobcentreplus’s four offices in the Wakefield district and will be held as follows:
• Tuesday 28th June – Wakefield Jobcentre
• Wednesday 29th June – Castleford Jobcentre
• Thursday 30th June – Hemsworth Jobcentre
• Friday 1st July – Pontefract Jobcentre
Businesses can support the events in a variety of different ways:
• Delivering mock interviews
• Delivering group information sessions on your industry
• Giving advice on CV’s
• Delivering a company presentation and advice on recruitment channels
• Having a stand with a desk to register customer’s details or interview for any current v acancies you may have.
