26 January 2015

Local personalised clothing manufacturer, Xamax, has started the New Year with the announcement that two key members of staff have been promoted to senior positions within the company in support of its ongoing strategy to increase turnover by 20% in the next twelve months.

Gareth Thompson has been promoted to Sales Director, while Tony Palmer takes the position of Director of Operations in a strategic move to help the work wear specialist to meet with its ambitious growth plans to take its current turnover from £3.5m to £4.1m by the end of 2015.

As part of his new role Gareth will be responsible for creating and delivering sales strategies, nurturing and developing relationships with clients, as well as maximising new business development opportunities.

Tony will oversee the manufacturing processes in the business to ensure the effective production of good and services, while managing the implementation of new innovative processes. In addition Tony, who was fundamental in developing a world first manufacturing process of sportswear at the company, will also take a leading role in the development of new product lines.

Graham Thompson, Managing Director of Xamax, comments:

“By focusing our efforts on innovation and expansion, in 2014 we experienced our most successful year to date.

“This year we hope to build upon our success by continuing to develop good relationships with sporting organisations, as well as schools and Academies. The two new promotions form a vital part of our strategy to achieve this. We have always maintained that we will nurture and develop our employees ensuring that they become the best, and Gareth and Tony are a reflection of this.”

In 2014 Xamax invested more than £500,000 into the refurbishment of a 30,000 sq. ft. unit used for offices, manufacturing and warehousing, as well as the design and build of a customer facing retail outlet.

Providing more than 16,000 businesses with embroidered and screen printed garments, the company employs 46 staff and has more than 20 years’ experience working within the work wear and sportswear markets.
