Wakefield Council will be attending MIPIM Cannes from the 12th to 16th March as part of the Leeds City Region delegation.  

The MIPIM conference is the world's premier real estate event, held each year in Cannes. It gathers the most influential international property players from the office, residential, retail, healthcare, sport, logistics and industrial sectors.

Attending from Wakefield Council will be Tom Stannard Corporate Director and Clare Elliott Service Director of Regeneration and Economic Growth, the team which is responsible for delivering the Council’s 2018-25 Economic Strategy, Successful Business, People and Places.

Wakefield Council will be showcasing office, industrial and leisure development opportunities across the Wakefield District at a time when the Council’s regeneration investment programme - totals £7 billion over the next decade. The team will be attending at an exciting time with the recent release of our new draft Local Plan. The plan which boasts potential of an additional 280 hectares of additional prime supply employment land and sets out our ambition to deliver 26,000 new homes over the next 19 years.

The Leeds City Region event programme includes 18 sessions over the three day event and has been developed in conjunction with local authorities and a 100-strong private sector delegation.

The programme aims to showcase the region’s recent successes which have seen it recognised as a leading destination for investment and emphasising the opportunities that exist for the global audience of investors and developers attracted by MIPIM every year.
