Redrow’s Montpellier semi, available at St John’s Mews, Wakefield and viewable as a fully furnished show home at Aspen Park, in Garforth

WOULD-BE homeowners keen to see exactly what they can expect at a Wakefield development can now take a short trip for a first-hand view.

St John’s Mews is a brand-new development from Redrow, close to Wakefield town centre, on the site of the former West Yorkshire Police training facilities in Westfield Road.

More than 100 new two, three and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s Georgian-influenced Regent Collection will eventually be built here, with available homes currently starting from £339,950.

Among them is the Montpellier four-bedroom, three-bathroom semi, from £344,950.

With a show home due to open in December, the St John’s Mews homes are already for sale ‘off-plan’, with all the advantages that can bring; such as a wider choice of homes, the pick of position within the development and more opportunity for customers to personalise their home through specification choices plus optional extras and upgrades available through ‘My Redrow’.

“However, we understand that some people prefer to view a house before they buy it and the good news is that now they can,” says Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire).

“We’ve opened a fully furnished Montpellier show home at our Aspen Park at Roundwood development in nearby Garforth, which is about a 20 minute drive away.  For those who just can’t wait until we open the doors to a Montpellier in Wakefield it’s a chance to see everything this beautiful home has to offer.”

The Montpellier makes the very most of its three floors and, because it’s been expanded upwards instead of out, it’s competitively priced for a family sized four-bedroom home. Downstairs is a spacious lounge, plus a kitchen and dining area overlooking the garden that’s perfect for family life, dinners and get-togethers.

On the first floor is the master bedroom with en-suite shower room, a second bedroom and family bathroom. On the floor above are two more bedrooms and another bathroom, making this space perfect for older children or guests.

And if a trip to Garforth whets homebuyers’ appetites, Redrow has some incentives to make owning a new home at St John’s Mews an even tastier treat.

Initiatives like the Government backed Help to Buy equity loan can reduce a customer’s initial outlay by up to 20% and means they may only need a 5% deposit to secure a brand new home.  Recently announced regional price caps won’t kick in for a couple of years so, for now, Help to Buy is still available on new homes up to £600,000.

For those with an existing property to sell, Redrow’s Mastermove scheme could be the answer – using a local estate agent to help find them a buyer and contributing to estate agent fees.
