WDH Apprentices Prepare New Training Facility for 2016 Intake
Wed 02 Mar 2016
Aspiring bricklayers and joiners have been putting their on-the-job training to good use after creating new facilities for WDH’s 2016 intake of trade apprentices.
Six WDH apprentices recently built internal walls, a multi-purpose work bay, tiling bays, work benches and storage cupboards at the landlord’s construction training centre and trade store based in Normanton.
Commenting on the work Faye Pass, WDH’s Apprentice Review Officer, said:
“Working on this project has given our apprentices a unique experience and has provided them with the opportunity to complete work that will further develop their skills. They've all worked together to get the job done, which means the workshops are ready for upcoming apprentice assessment days and training sessions.”
Last year over 600 people attended WDH's first ever apprenticeship open evening, and next month the organisation will be hosting another. Potential applicants can drop in to Merefield House in Castleford on Tuesday 15 March between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
2016 roles will be advertised from Monday 29 February, with a minimum of 10 trade positions available.
