Wakefield Warehouse Prepares for Poundworld Expansion

Development is underway at a new distribution centre for Wakefield based Poundworld. The development worth £39.4m has a targeted completion date of Autumn 2016.
Mark Ward, property director at Poundworld Retail, said:
"We have a rapid store expansion programme over the next three years and the new distribution centre will aid our expansion plans, improve efficiency and allow for a broadening of our product range in our single and multi-price format stores."
Located by junction 31 the site, covering 30 acres, is part of a logistics hub which includes ASDA, DHL, HSBC, Royal Mail and TK Maxx. The new centre at 524,000 sq ft will create an additional 300 jobs in the area and help to secure long term investment from Poundworld in the area.
