WAKEFIELD engineer, Peter Haythorne has been inducted into The Manufacturer’s Top 100.

Peter Haythorne joined ICW (UK) Ltd as business manager 12 years ago and was given the award in the Unsung Hero category.

In his time at ICW (UK) Ltd he has been a steady hand combining his professional engineering qualifications with his reliable understanding of processes and procedures to keep the business on an even keel.

Peter navigates customers through their window requirements and does whatever is required to get the product out of the door.

Operating in the niche sector where every window specification is different, he can call on his vast experience and expertise to advise and then design top quality windows that do the job.

And when ICW(UK)Ltd’s founder, Margaret Wood, handed over the reins to new MD Stephen Chapman, Peter ensured a smooth transition.  His knowledge of the business proved invaluable and he acted as a go-between for staff on the shop floor.

The awards were announced at the Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit in Liverpool where the Top100 were recognised for innovation, leadership, apprenticeship and as unsung heroes.

Stephen Chapman, MD said: “Peter has been a real asset to ICW (UK) Ltd because of both his experience and expertise.  He has an ability to interpret customers’ needs adding value with his insight yet at the same time he acts as a capable and steady business manager juggling multiple demands from suppliers and customers.  It’s recognition well deserved.”
