STUART HAS NEW LAND ROLE MAPPED OUT

STUART Mapp has joined Redrow’s Yorkshire team as a senior land manager.

It follows the promotion of David Gilling to head of land last year.

Stuart, 48, who lives in North Leeds, joins Redrow from Avant Homes Yorkshire, where he spent the last four-and-a-half years; but his land buying experience spans 26 years, having begun his career as a trainee land manager after graduating with a BSc in housing management and development.

“I’ve worked in the new homes industry for 26 years and the best part of 20 of those years have been in the Yorkshire region. I’m delighted to have joined Redrow, who have a great reputation for their brand and their product. They’re also known for their investment in people and opportunities for career progression,” said Stuart.

Working with David Gilling, Stuart’s focus will be on acquiring sites that can sustain at least 50 private sale homes and either have an outline planning consent, have been allocated for housing in draft or adopted local plans, or any sites capable of being developed immediately.

“We’re looking for aspirational market locations which lend themselves to our Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection or the Georgian influenced homes of our Regent Collection,” added the married father of two.

Together with other members of the team, David and Stuart’s work complements that of planning director Sarah Carr, who also joined Redrow’s Wakefield-based team last year and is responsible for identifying forward land opportunities and taking them through the planning system.

Paul Oldridge, managing director of Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “David’s promotion, Sarah’s appointment and now the arrival of Stuart has really strengthened our land and planning team in the Yorkshire division and we are looking to make great strides in the year ahead.”

Redrow’s Wakefield operation builds circa 450 new homes per annum and currently has developments underway across a wide area, including sites in or near York, Harrogate, Leeds, Wakefield and Huddersfield. For details see www.redrow.co.uk/yorkshire
