Six-figure boost for cards and gifts firm

A Pontefract-based cards and gifts business is expanding with a six-figure investment.

Stacey Dennis started Love Layla from her kitchen table in 2015 after being made redundant as a greeting cards designer. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength and now has an established franchise in Australia.

Its product range comprises more than 600 items.

The six-figure investment will see new printing machinery installed in the business' West Yorkshire factory, allowing it to launch next-day delivery of personalised cards and gifts.

The cash injection comes as Love Layla gears up for its best-ever Christmas trading period, with a new range of 178 cards available.

Dennis said: "The last four years have been a real whirlwind. Demand is increasing all the time and we have seasonal spikes, so we're looking forward to the festive period.

"To cope with the volume of demand, we've invested heavily in new kit and machinery which will allow us to meet it quicker and more efficiently. We've seen massive growth in demand from office workers who seem particularly keen on our range as it can be used as part of team-building activities or to keep morale up amongst colleagues."
