PRODUCTION PARK HAILS TAIT DEAL

Production Park has hailed the sale of its subsidiary Brilliant Stages to US live technology business TAIT as the start of an "exciting new era on its Wakefield campus".

Production Park in South Kirby is home to more than 20 live event businesses, two studios and 200 students.

Earlier this month, TAIT International Ltd, the UK subsidiary of TAIT Towers, acquired Brilliant Stages, which was founded in 1983 and has worked with clients including the Rolling Stone's, Cirque Du Soleil, and the Dubai Mall.

Production Park said the deal "effectively heralds the joining of forces by two leaders in live technology, allowing transatlantic technical collaboration as the basis for even more spectacular entertainment productions".

Chief executive Lee Brooks said: "By welcoming TAIT onto the campus, at a stroke we're increasing inward investment, widening global opportunities for the graduates of Backstage Academy, and recruiting another collaborator to our industry innovation programme.

"By our unique combination of production rehearsal facilities, R&D support, and industry led university education, Production Park will continue to develop as the premier environment for Live Events Production in Europe."
