As part of the plans, we are proposing to close Castleford Swimming Pool and Knottingley Sports Centre in January 2017. It is also proposed that Pontefract Pool would remain open until the new centre is built.
The three existing facilities cost the council £1 million in subsidy every year. It is forecast that the projected net subsidy for the new facility will be £126,000 by its third year of operation.
