Carclo appoints interim COO

Plastic components manufacturer Carclo has appointed an interim group chief operating officer.

Stephen Nixon will have responsibility for the Technical Plastics and LED Technologies Divisions, reporting to executive chairman Mark Rollins.

Nixon spent the first 15 years of his career spent at the Ford Motor Company in the UK and Germany, followed by five years working in European general management roles for Freudenberg. He then took up the role of group operations director at Renold, with responsibility for 3,000 employees across 20 countries in a variety of engineering manufacturing operations.

Since 2007, Nixon has held interim chief executive and chief operating officer roles for a range of underperforming engineering businesses.

Mark Rollins, executive chairman at Carclo, said: "Stephen's experience is extremely well matched to the immediate needs of Carclo and I am convinced he will successfully lead the group's operations in making sustained improvements for the benefit of customers, employees and shareholders alike."

In January, Ossett-based Carclo announced that group chief executive Chris Malley would step down from his role to drive operational improvements in its LED Technologies Division.
