COCA-COLA EUROPEAN PARTNERS SPONSORS WAKEFIELD BUSINESS WEEK 2019, JOINING A HOST OF TOP LOCAL BUSINESSES AND ORGANISATIONS IN THE DISTRICT

Coca-Cola is one of the strongest and well-known brands in the world, opening its local manufacturing site in Wakefield in 1989. The local site forms part of Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP), the world’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottler. It is responsible for manufacturing, selling and distributing a wide range of soft drinks across Great Britain.

In Great Britain, CCEP employs some 3,600 people across England, Scotland and Wales at manufacturing sites, offices and depots.

The Wakefield site based in Lofthouse opened its doors back in 1989 and currently employs around 450 people across their nine production lines – capable of producing 6,000 cans every minute! As part of this, CCEP enjoys working closely with a range of other local businesses across their supply chain to help bring some of the nation’s favourite soft drinks to people up and down the country.

Wakefield First is delighted to have CCEP on board as a headline sponsor of such a prominent event for the district in the business community. Alison Rance, Operations Director at Coca-Cola European Partners, Wakefield said: “As a global business operating locally in Wakefield, we’re delighted to be supporting this year’s Wakefield Business Week – joining a host of other top local businesses and organisations in the area.

Wakefield is an incredibly important region not only for our business – being the prime location of Europe’s biggest soft drinks factory by volume – but for the growing Northern business hub as a whole.

“We’re committed to helping drive this growth further in the coming years by working with local authorities, communities and service providers to help create an environment that supports growing manufacturing businesses in Wakefield. From helping to develop a diverse, highly skilled talent pool, to sharing our experience and insights with other local businesses, we want to help cement Wakefield’s place on the map as an area of manufacturing excellence.”
