Wakefield Council has an enviable record in delivering housing and economic growth. We are now looking to appoint a talented and innovative Service Manager to lead the development and delivery of the Council’s ambitious regeneration and housing goals.
Able to work strategically, you will lead on a range of key programmes and projects and on operational service delivery. You will be able to develop and implement creative and enterprising solutions for physically remaking Wakefield city centre and the centres of our 5 largest towns to help make them a destination for businesses, residents and visitors. Building on the strong momentum created in our local housing market, you will ensure that housing growth which meets the needs of all residents is delivered and ensure that poor housing conditions are tackled, protecting the health and wellbeing of our residents. You will also lead the delivery of schemes to reduce fuel poverty across the district and to promote and support clean, low carbon growth.
You will be skilled in creating and maintaining excellent partnership working relationships across the Council, and with a wide range of external partners in the public, private, voluntary and community sectors, and have a track record of securing investment to finance initiatives and enhance services. You should also have the capacity to adapt in a changing environment and the judgement and political intuition to make effective, deliverable decisions.
