Business is currently facing unprecedented times in terms of operation as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Continued uncertainty around lockdown and delivering a socially isolated service will bring added pressure to all. Some businesses may be facing difficult decisions around working arrangements, redundancy or reduced working which may financially affect themselves and/or their employees. In addition to the business related support that is available, Wakefield Council’s Energy and Homeowner Support team are ready and available to provide practical help and support to you and your employees during and after these difficult times. The support is focussed on practical advice on money, mortgages and debt, and especially if challenging situations arise at work which may affect the home setting. For any employer faced with tough business decisions, knowing that additional external support is available for their employees is a useful tool.
We currently deliver 2 main support schemes
- Mortgage Breathing Space, which is a mortgage assistance project to help those who might are or facing repossession action by their lenders – available to anyone living in the Yorkshire and Humber region who has a mortgage and is struggling (or doesn’t think they can afford to pay their next mortgage payment).
- Money Smart, which is a multi strand project which looks at ways to stretch money further, tackle debt, improve energy efficiency or properties or help with energy switching and also increasing skills to improve job prospects.
The Webinar will outline how these projects work for those who are or who may be facing difficulties, the sort of help we can give and how to access the service.
